Blue Dream as Guo Pei

Guo Pei’s Spring 2018 Couture runway show embodies all the dreaminess of the Blue Dream strain The recurring of the dark blue floral embroideries hinted that this could have been dawn or dusk, when twilight casts a mystical blue aura on the world. ⠀⠀

Similar to Blue Dream’s buds, Guo Pei’s show is filled with dark hues and golds, accented by snowy whites. Each model appeared to float down the runway, crystal-like platforms that hovered above the ground. With their gothic crowns and fantastical halos, they embodied Guo Pei’s extraordinary imagination, and exemplify the dreamy attributes of this legendary strain. ⠀⠀

There is a cerebral invigoration in both strain and line, a beautiful balanced buzz that is magical yet grounded. Which was fully understood after the designer explained her vision as something along the lines of representing the life force of roots and flowers. ⠀⠀

Blue Dream is the perfect blend of its lineage, taking all of their best attributes and compounding them into something really unique. A potent cross between the ever popular classic strains Blueberry and Haze, Blue Dream is a slightly sativa-dominant strain that has achieved legendary status among West Coast strains and is shrouded in mystery.

It is not just dreamy because of its stellar flavor and buzzy cerebral high, but because its history has essentially been wiped from the books with many believing its origins must be a dream. It first made a name for itself in the medical community, though no one knew who made it or where it came from outside of most speculating it was birthed in Santa Cruz, CA. Eventually, the strain caught the attention of legendary breeder DJ Short who has worked hard to give us the version we have today.
